Tim Feerick, the longtime bassist for Sacramento rock band Dance Gavin Dance, died recently.

His band shared the news of his passing on social media, saying they are “totally crushed” by the “untimely loss” of their buddy and bandmate on April 13th. The reason for death has yet to be revealed.

Feerick, who was thought to be in his forties, joined the band as a touring member in 2009 before departing in 2010. He returned in 2012 and has since played on all of the group’s albums, the most recent of which is 2020’s Afterburner. He also sang on the band’s new hit, “Synergy.”

Dance Gavin Dance is a Sacramento-based rock band that formed in 2005. Tilian Pearson, Jon Mess, Will Swan, Andrew Wells, and Matthew Mingus are the current members of the band, which has released nine albums since its formation.
They were scheduled to kick off their tour on April 23 at Swanfest in Sacramento, then play a string of US dates before heading to the UK and Europe in the fall.
