Shirley Spork Obituary, Husband, Children

Shirley Spork was an American professional golfer and one of the founders of the LPG Tour. Spork finished second at the 1962 LPGA Championship. She worked as a teaching pro for many years and was recognised as LPGA Teacher of the Year in 1959 and 1984.

Spork was one of the thirteen founders of the LPGA in 1950. In 1951, she toured the United Kingdom and France. She also started teaching golf at Tamarisk country club in Palm Springs, California in 1954.

Spork continued golf into her 90s. She was awarded the LPGA Teacher of the Year award in 1959 and again in 1984. In 1968, she joined the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame.

Shirley Spork never walked down the aisle with a man. There is no such detail into whether she was engaged or had children. Overall the spotlight, Shirley always went to the award shows and appeared in public alone.
