“MND was not George Melling’s definition; it was simply the awful sickness that took him away from us.” “He was an amazing father… and I’m honoured to call him my spouse.” “You’re going to leave a huge hole in everyone’s heart.”

Longridge Town Football Club paid tribute to their former captain as well, saying that he will be “forever remembered by all of us.” “George was more than a Longridge Town FC player and captain. He was one of us, Ashey and Kieran’s lifelong friend, a leader and a winner.

“All of us in Longridge Town will remember him fondly, and he will be dearly missed.”
