Sadio Mané is a Senegalese professional footballer who plays as a winger for Premier League club Liverpool and the Senegal national team.

Sadio Mané finished fourth for the 2019 Ballon d’Or, and in the award for the Best FIFA Men’s Player he ranked fifth in 2019 and fourth in 2020.

Sadio Mané began his professional career with Ligue 2 club Metz at age 19, but he departed after a solitary season to join Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in 2012 for a fee of €4 million, winning a league and cup domestic double in the 2013–14 season.

Later that summer, Sadio Mané transferred to English club Southampton for a club record fee of £11.8 million. There, he set a new Premier League record for the fastest hat-trick, scored in 176 seconds in a 6–1 win over Aston Villa in 2015.

Sadio Mané signed for fellow Premier League side Liverpool in 2016, for a reported fee of £34 million and since joining, he has helped the side reach back-to-back UEFA Champions League Finals in 2018 and 2019, winning the latter.

Sadio Mane has accumulated a net worth of $20 million and is widely known for using his wealth and resources to donate to charities and change millions of lives.

Some of Sadio Mane’s charitable deeds are;

1. In the spring of 2019, as Liverpool were in the final stages of their successful Champions League campaign, Sadio Mané made a £250,000 donation to fund a school in Bambali.

2. At the start of the covid-19 pandemic in March 2020, Mané donated £41,000 to the national committee fighting Covid in Senegal.

His agent said he had done it “spontaneously when he saw the evolution of the situation”.

3. In June 2021, Sadio Mane donated $693,000 (£500,000) to help fund the construction of a hospital in his hometown of Bambali in Senegal.

The village, about 400 kilometers outside the capital city Dakar, did not previously have a hospital.
