Dwayne Haskins was an American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for three seasons. He was born on May 3, 1997, in Highland Park, New Jersey.

Dwayne played college football at Ohio State, where he won the Sammy Baugh Trophy and was MVP of the 2019 Rose Bowl during his sophomore year. Haskins was selected by the Washington Redskins in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft but was released after less than two season due to inconsistent play and questions over his work ethic.

Dwayne spent his following season as a backup for the Pittsburgh Steelers. While still a member of the Steelers, Haskins died during the 2022 off-season when he was fatally struck by a dump truck on Interstate 595 in Florida.

Dwayne Haskins’ first season in Baton Rouge was an inconsistent journey, but, boy, did he breakout his senior season, leading the Tigers to the national championship in the 2019 season, and adding a Heisman Trophy to his collection.

He was the No. 1 overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2020 NFL draft.
