Stewart Cink Masters Finishes, Record, History, Masters Wins

Stewart Cink enters his 20th Masters coming off his finest season on the PGA Tour in more than a decade.

With his son Reagan on the bag, Cink, 48, captured his first victory since the 2009 Open Championship at the 2020 Safeway Open, earning an invitation to last year’s Masters, where he finished T12.

His spot in the 2022 Tournament already secured, Cink won the following week at Hilton Head for his eighth career PGA Tour victory.

Father and son are both graduates of Georgia Tech, and Stewart resides in the Atlanta area. His best Masters finish was a T3 in 2008.

Stewart Cink aced the 166-yard 16th hole in the second round of the Masters on Friday.

He used an 8-iron.

Standing on the tee at 8 over par and well outside the projected cut line, Cink aimed well right and watched his ball land and trickle down the embankment, toward the front-left pin placement, and into the cup.

The crowd roared as Reagan Cink, his son and caddie, dropped the bag and went in for a hug with his dad. Harry Higgs also went in for an embrace, and Brian Harman offered a congratulatory knuckle-bump.

Cink won the 2009 Open Championship, defeating Tom Watson in a four-hole aggregate playoff.

He spent over 40 weeks in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking from 2004 to 2009, reaching a career best ranking of 5th in 2008.

Cink won the 1996 Mexican Open and the 1999 Mexican Open.

On July 19, 2009, Cink won his first major title at the 138th Open Championship at Turnberry, Scotland, defeating 59-year-old, five-time champion Tom Watson by six strokes in a four-hole playoff.

Cink had birdied the 72nd hole while Watson bogeyed, which forced the playoff.

On September 13, 2020, Cink won the Safeway Open for his first win since the 2009 Open Championship.
