Michael Latifi is an Iranian-Canadian businessman, investor, philanthropist and executive chair of Canadian giant Sofina Foods.

Michael Mehrdad Latifi was born in October 1962 to his parents, Mohammad Bagher Latifi and Fatemeh Latifi. There is not much information available regarding his exact date and place of birth.

Michael Latifi obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from McGill University. He was raised alongside his siblings Max Latifi, Afsaneh Latifi, and Afschineh Latifi.

Michael Latifi is best recognized as the owner, Chairman and CEO of Sofina Foods Inc., which is a Markham, Ontario-based manufacturer of processed animal products. As an entrepreneur, his company Sofina went on to acquire Lilydale in a C$130 million deal in 2010.

Sofina also acquired Santa Maria Foods ULC, an importer and distributor of specialty Italian brands, in 2012. Michael is married to his spouse Marilena Latifi and is the father of Nicholas Daniel Latifi (born 29 June 1995). Nicholas Latifi is a Canadian-Iranian racing driver currently competing in Formula One for Williams Racing under the Canadian flag.
