Ultimately, Rick Grimes realized that in order to spend more time with his family, Andrew Lincoln would need to leave The Walking Dead.

In season 9, episode 5, The Walking Dead seemingly killed Andrew Lincoln’s, Rick Grimes. In one final heroic moment, Grimes blew up a bridge and once again saved his fellow survivors from oncoming zombies.

Rick Grimes is a fictional character and the main protagonist in the post-apocalyptic comic book series The Walking Dead and the first nine seasons of the television series of the same name, in which he is portrayed by Andrew Lincoln.

Created by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Tony Moore, the character made his debut in The Walking Dead #1 in 2003.
