What led to Heath Ledger’s death?

Heath Ledger died on the 22nd of January, 2008 as a result of an accidental overdose of medications .

According to the New York City medical examiner’s office,Heath Ledger’s death was caused by accidental overdose of prescription medications.This fatal cocktail included painkillers, anti-antiety drugs, and sleeping pills.

To be specific , he died from an ”acute intoxification by the combined effects of oxycodone,hydrocodone, diazepam,temazepam,alprazolam, and doxylamine.”

According to experts,this combination can cause a person’s brain and brain stem to”fall asleep”,and also stop heart and lungs from functioning.

His death affectedthe  subsequent promotion of ‘The Dark Knight’. A few month before his death,had filmed his role as the Joker in ThevDark Knight.

At the time of his death, The Dark Knight was in post-production, and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, in which he was playing his last role as Tony, was in the midst of filming.

His last words to his sister,”Katie, Katie, I’m fine. Iknow what I’m doing.”
