Al Capone is well known for his violence and ruthlessness in the elimination of his rivals. In 1920, during the height of prohibition, Capone’s multi-million dollar Chicago operation in bootlegging, prostitution, and gambling dominated the organized crime scene.

Capone was responsible for many brutal acts of violence, mainly against other gangsters.

The most famous of these was the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre in 1929, in which he ordered the assassination of seven rivals. He was sometimes known by the nickname ”Scarface”.

Capone made a crude comment on Galluccio’s sister, which later prompted the nickname scarface.”

Where is AL Capone buried?

Al Capone died in his home in Miami, Florida of cardiac arrest resulting from third-stage syphilis. He was originally buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery Hillside, Illinois where he shared a plot with his father Gabriel and brother Frank.

There’s a gray granite marker inscribed ”Capone” for the family. The legendary gagster has a modest gray stone inscribed with his name, dates, and the simple phrase ”My Jesus Mercy.”
