After a stroke in 2020, the actor, 75, was diagnosed with aphasia, the same brain condition that movie legend Bruce Willis was reported to have this week.
Aphasia is a potentially fatal disorder that impairs a person’s capacity to comprehend language.

‘It’s awful, we’ve been so lonely,’ Anita, 69, the TV star’s wife, told The Sun on Sunday. Chris is locked inside his own skin. He is aware of everything that is going on around him, but he is unable to speak, read, or write.
‘He hasn’t said anything coherent in 18 months.’ I sometimes think I’ve lost my charismatic, witty, and caring husband.
Chris had a stroke at his Brighton home and was discovered on the bedroom floor by Anita.
