June Muriel Brown was an actress and author from England. She was best recognized for her role as Dot Cotton in EastEnders (1985–1993; 1997–2020) on the BBC soap drama.

She earned Best Actress at the Inside Soap Awards in 2005, as well as the British Soap Awards’ Lifetime Achievement Award.
Brown was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to drama and charity in the 2008 Birthday Honours.

She was nominated for a BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress in a Soap Opera in 2009, making her the second performer after Jean Alexander to receive a BAFTA nomination for their work in a soap opera.
Brown revealed in February 2020 that, at the age of 93, he has decided to depart EastEnders permanently.
