Actress Jennifer Wilson, who starred in soaps including Coronation Street and Doctors, has died aged 89.

The performer also had roles in hit 70s shows The Brothers and Special Branch.
A family friend confirmed she died at her home in France earlier this week but her cause of death is not known.
Wilson became a household name after her roles as Mrs. Bradbury in Corrie and Lily Compton in Casualty.
She last appeared on TV screens back in 2015 in an episode of Doctors.

The actress had also performed in Doctors: Mr. Punch as Maureen Vickerstaff opposite Andrew Sachs around a decade before.

She initially began performing as a stage actress, taking on roles in Twelfth Night and Macbeth, before making her television debut as Kate Nickleby in the BBC TV serial Nicholas Nickleby.
During filming, she met her future husband Brian Peck, who was also acting in the show.
Over the years, Wilson went on to appear in TV programs including Collect Your Handbaggage, The Second Mrs. Tanqueray, and Time and the Conways.
Her performance in the award-winning A Man Of Our Times led to a role in The Brothers, in which she played Jennifer Kingsley-Hammond for a seven-year run.
She also played Detective Sergeant Helen Webb in the first series of ITV’s Special Branch in 1969.
In 2000, she spent 11 months at St Martin’s Theatre playing Mrs. Boyle in Mousetrap, returning to the role in 2009.
She also joined a national touring production of Pride and Prejudice as matriarch Mrs. Bennet.
Among her most recent television appearances were roles on Peak Practice, the Personal Touch, and Last of the Summer Wine.
