Older males and non-Hispanic Black men are more prone to acquire prostate cancer. Men over the age of 65 account for about 6 out of every 10 occurrences, whereas men under the age of 40 are extremely rare. Men are diagnosed at an average age of 66.

More than 3.1 million men in the United States have had prostate cancer at some time in their lives and are still alive today.

Prostate cancer is a type of cancer that affects the prostate gland. Males have a small walnut-shaped gland called the prostate that generates seminal fluid, which nourishes and transports sperm.
