The lead single from the band’s debut album, “Leave the Door Open,” was released on March 5, along with an intro song hosted by Collins. At the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards, the band performed the track alongside a tribute to Little Richard that included “Long Tall Sally” and “Good Golly, Miss Molly.”
In 2017, Paak served as the opening act for Mars’ 24K Magic tour. While on tour, the two became friends and eventually came up with a phrase that morphed into a hook, which morphed into some serious studio sessions with the intent of making some serious music.
