Chelsie Whibley, who was best known for her roles in Dani’s House and Sadie J, had been diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder that causes mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system.

On Saturday, April 2, 2022, Chelsie was rushed to Southampton Hospital and died around 2.45 p.m. Her lungs were severely scarred and no longer operable, with a capacity of only 25% of what they should have been. Chelsie’s illness required her to take a daily cocktail of 60 pills.

She had to receive extensive treatment in her own home during the pandemic due to her inherited disease. Chelsie Whibley died at the age of 29 after a long battle with cystic fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis is a disease that affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat, and digestive juices. These secreted fluids are normally thin and slick. However, in people with cystic fibrosis, a faulty gene causes the secretions to thicken and become sticky. Secretions clog tubes, ducts, and passageways, especially in the lungs and pancreas, rather than acting as lubricants.
