Loch Doon Death: Man Dies After Getting Into Difficulty In Water

Loch Doon, has paid tribute to his son, Scott Ferries, who died after getting into difficulty

Emergency crews raced to Loch Doon near Dalmellington, Ayrshire, just after 1pm, yesterday, following reports of two men in difficulty.

The mechanic’s father James Ferries said he was about 50 yards away from the shore when his inflatable kayak capsized.

And said he was informed by cops it was likely his son had suffered shock caused by the cold water.

The other man was examined at the scene, but required no further medical treatment.

In a heartfelt message, the 24-year-old’s devastated dad wrote: “Now that the family knows, my baby boy Scott has passed away today while enjoying life up camping and kayaking with his Roxy and friends.

“Love you baby boy.”

Hundreds of other well well-wisher flocked to social media to pay their respects, as one wrote: “So so sorry for your loss, he was a part of our family for a while and was never a dull moment.

“Always a smile on his face and willing to help you with anything. Thinking of you all”

Another said: “Sorry for your loss thoughts are with your family.”
