Mark Gero: Who is Liza Minnelli’s ex-husband?

Mark Gero is a sculptor and stage manager who is the son of Frank Gero, a theatrical producer. He was born on September 4, 1952, in California, United States of America. He is 69 years old and he follows Christianity as his religion.

Mark Gero is no longer married. Liza Minnelli, a well-known American actress, and singer was his wife. In 1979, they married and divorced in 1992.

First Husband

Minnelli married her first husband, Peter Allen, in 1967.

Allen was a musician, songwriter, and stage performer who received an Academy Award for the song “Arthur Theme (Best That You Can Do)” from the film Arthur, which starred Dudley Moore and Minnelli herself. They divorced in 1974 after an eight-year relationship.

Second Husband

Minnelli married her second husband, Jack Haley, Jr., a Hollywood legend when she was 28 years old.

Minnelli and Haley divorced in 1979 after a five-year marriage. Haley died of respiratory failure in April 2001 at the age of 67.

Third Husband

Minnelli married her third husband, artist Mark Gero in 1979 when she was 33 years old. Minnelli had a miscarriage in 1981 when she was still married to Gero.

By January 1992, circumstances between Minnelli and Gero had clearly deteriorated, which lead to their divorce. Gero is currently 68 years old. Frank Gero, a prominent Broadway producer who worked on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Oleanna, and A Steady Rain, was his father.

Fourth Husband

Minnelli married her fourth husband, David Gest who was introduced to her by Micheal Jackson according to the Washington Post at the age of 56. Gest had a great career in the entertainment world, having created three television specials on Jackson.

There were years of legal wrangling ensued between them, but in 2007, they agreed to a no-fault divorce and settled the claims. Gest died in 2016 at the age of 62.

During an interview with Access Hollywood in 2012, Minnelli expressed reservations about marrying again. She said, “Hit me over the head and take me out of there if you even hear I’m getting married!”.
