In old age, Brando suffered from diabetes, which caused his eyesight to fail, and from liver cancer. He died on July 1, 2004, of respiratory and heart ailments.

on July 1, 2004, at age 80, he died of respiratory failure at UCLA Medical Center. In his will, Brando named producer Mike Medavoy, a longtime friend, as executor of his estate.

Part of that estate, of course, was Brando’s “Lying for a Living” seminar.
