Before his introduction, Bob’s fictional backstory revealed that he had been married and divorced four times. Jean Hope (Julie Higginson; Susan Penhaligon) was his first wife, whom he married and divorced twice.
Dawn (Julia Mallam) and Jamie Hope (Alex Carter) are her children, but her marriage ended when he walked out. His third marriage was to Barbara Hope, with whom he had two children, Josh Hope (Marc Silcock) and Carly Hope (Rebecca Ryan; Gemma Atkinson), but they divorced when he walked out once more.
He married American Vonda Lockhart (Lorelei King) in Las Vegas while intoxicated, which he later regretted the next day. On the night of their wedding, Vonda became pregnant, giving birth to Roxy.
