High school Basketball player Anthony Williams (18) died after a vehicle struck him on Lonetree Boulevard in Rocklin.

According to Fox 40, the incident happened at around 8:30 pm on Saturday.
Authorities arrived at the location of the accident and immediately transported Williams to the Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
However, he later died due to major injuries. On the other hand, authorities reported that the driver of the vehicle cooperated with their investigation.

Family and friends mourned over losing Williams. His teammates lovingly remembered him as an ultimate “powerhouse”.
He was a valuable member of the community who played for Inderkum High School.
Natomas Unified School District Executive Director Deidra Powell said to Fox 40, “we are deeply saddened by the devastating loss of Anthony Williams, a student-athlete who attended Inderkum High School.”
His coach Chris Collins also said, “He moved out about six or seven months ago… I even talked to him the day before it happened, it’s hard to believe he’s gone.”
Williams was one of the top 50 high school basketball players in Sacramento. The Inderkum Basketball team also posted on its official Instagram page about the loss.
