The week runs from 15–21 March every year. The week encourages everyone to learn about, respect, and celebrate Western Australia’s rich cultural, religious, linguistic, and ethnic variety.

Harmony Week is about all Australians, regardless of ethnic or linguistic origin, feeling included, respected, and belonging to a set of essential Australian values.
The color orange has been chosen to signify Harmony Week. Orange has long been associated with social interaction and meaningful conversations. It also has to do with the freedom of expression and the promotion of mutual respect.
During Harmony Week, Australians can wear orange to show their support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.
