Her late husband, Chain Kanievsky, received thousands of visits every year from Jews seeking religious and Halachic advice.
He was the official rabbi and spiritual guide for the non-profit organization Belev Echad, which was founded in Israel on 2011 and was dedicated to assist sick and disabled children and adults.
In his youth, he was known as a brilliant child prodigy who had a photographic memory for Torah and could elucidate complicated rabbinic teachings, despite his youth.
During the 1947–1949 Palestine war, Rabbi Kanievsky, then a student at the Lomza Yeshiva, was mobilized into the Israel Defense Forces. He was assigned to stand guard on a large hill near Jaffa.
