Why Did Pete Davidson Change His Mind About Going To Space?

“SNL” comedian and Staten Island native Pete Davidson will not be on Blue Origin’s next space trip.

“Blue Origin’s 20th flight of New Shepard has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 29,” the company announced in a statement. Pete Davidson can no longer accompany the NS-20 crew on this mission. We will unveil the sixth member of the crew in the following days.”

It’s unknown why Pete won’t be able to make the trip, but as we previously reported, he’s been working on several films, including James DeMonaco’s “The Home,” in which Pete was seen covered in blood during a scene. As a result, one of them probably got in the way.

Party America CEO Marty Allen, husband and wife combination Sharon and Marc Hagle, entrepreneur Jim Kitchen, and Commercial Space Technologies Prez Dr George Nield are among the remaining passengers planning to fly with Pete.

Before the mission, the crew will spend a few days training at Blue Origin’s facilities in West Texas before climbing into the New Shepard crew capsule that sits atop the rocket. After liftoff, the rocket will accelerate past the speed of sound and detach from the capsule near the top of its flight path.
