David Stephenson was an English rugby union and professional rugby footballer who played in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. He was born on December 3, 1958, in Blackpool, Lancashire, England.

Stephenson played left-centre, ie number 4 and scored 6 goals, setting the most goals in a Yorkshire county cup final record, in Leeds’ 33-12 victory over Castleford in the 1988 Yorkshire Count Cup Final during the 1988-89 season at Ellan Roads, Leeds on Sunday, October 16, 1988.

David Stephenson Cause of Death

Former Wigan Warriors player David Stephenson has passed away at age 63. Wigan Warriors confirmed the death of David Stephson on their Twitter page saying,

“Today, Wigan Warriors are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of former player and 1987 World Club Challenge legend, David Stephenson. The circumstances surrounding David Stephenson’s death have not been revealed at this time”.
