Sir Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton MBE HonFREng was born on January 7, 1985, in Stevenage, United Kingdom to parents Carmen Larbalestier and Anthony Hamilton. He is of mixed race as his father, Anthony Hamilton, is of Grenadian descent and his mother, Carmen Larbalestier, is White British.
