Who Was Yevhen Deidei? People’s Deputy Of Ukraine Killed In Battle With Russia

Yevhen Serhiyovych Deidei (Ukrainian: вeн ерови еде; July 12, 1987 – March 10, 2022) was a Ukrainian politician. He was a member of the Special Tasks Patrol Police battalion “Kyiv-1.” From November 2014 to August 2019, he served as a People’s Deputy of Ukraine. He was sentenced to five years in jail for robbery in 2012, although he was eventually released.

Deidei died on March 10, 2022, during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, at the age of 34. The circumstances of his death are still unknown.

Deidei was born on July 12, 1987, in the little village of Reni, Odessa Oblast, on the Danube’s left bank. Serhiy Yakovych Deidei, a member of Reni’s municipal council, was convicted of fraud in 2011 by the Izmailsky District Court of Odessa Oblast. His mother’s name is Olha Mykolayivna Deidei (née Volkova), and he has a brother named Serhiy.

Deidei was appointed as the coordinator of the battalion of the Special Tasks Patrol Police “Kyiv-1” of the Main Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv in 2014. In November 2014, he was elected as a people’s deputy to the Verkhovna Rada’s 8th convocation on the ticket of the “People’s Front” party.

Deidei was appointed as the coordinator of the battalion of the Special Tasks Patrol Police “Kyiv-1” of the Main Directorate of Ukraine’s Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv the same year. On September 10, 2014, he was elected to Ukraine’s Council of War, along with other commanders of volunteer battalions, during the party’s “People’s Front” congress.
