Boyd kept a record of the wild years – portraits and reportage style snaps taken with a Polaroid and, later, on a Hasselblad.

Why Was Pattie Boyd Called Layla?
The title of “Layla” was inspired by the story of Layla and Majnun, which Clapton had been told by his friend Ian Dallas, who was in the process of converting to Islam.
Is Pattie Boyd Infertile?
Boyd’s infertility was a major issue. Boyd and Clapton were unable to have children despite trying in vitro fertilisation.
During one of Clapton’s many affairs, his mistress got pregnant. He jubilantly disclosed to Boyd—who had gone through many fertility treatments—that he was soon to be a father.
