Justice Christopher was a retired Nigerian football player. He died on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at the age of 40.

Justice Christopher played for several clubs in Nigeria and Europe, including Belgian outfit Antwerp, Bulgarian side Levski Sofia and clubs in Sweden, Denmark, and Russia. He picked up 11 senior caps for Nigeria, playing in all three of their 2002 World Cup games as well as captaining his country’s U20 team.

According to numerous Nigerian reporters. The midfielder died on Wednesday morning at his hotel in Jos, Nigeria. Reports say he played a social game of football just 24 hours earlier.

At the moment, no official cause of Justice Christopher’s death has been confirmed. His autopsy report has been scheduled and would be released this week.

Confirming his death, the Nigerian Football Federation issued a statement saying: “We are devastated to hear of the sudden passing away of former Super Eagles midfielder Justice Christopher early on Wednesday morning.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and football community in Nigeria. May his soul rest in peace,” it added. His funeral arrangement is yet to be announced.
