Per Rapoport, in return for Russell Wilson and a fourth-round pick, the Seahawks will get two first-rounders and two second-round picks, a fifth-rounder, quarterback Drew Lock, defensive end Shelby Harris and tight end Noah Fant.

While Russell Wilson being traded might be a reaction to Aaron Rodgers re-signing in Green Bay for $200 million over four seasons and Seattle not wanting to extend Russell Wilson after 2023, Seattle seems to have chosen Schneider and Carroll over Wilson.

Wilson has been with the team since 2012 so whatever success the Seahawks have had with Carroll and Schneider corresponds with Russell Wilson being a Seahawk.

Wilson beat the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII and will become the first quarterback to start for a team he beat in the Super Bowl, according to ESPN Stats & Information research.
Wilson was set to count $37 million against Seattle’s salary cap this coming season. His trade will save the Seahawks $11 million in 2022 cap space.
The Seahawks also are releasing All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner, another franchise cornerstone who was drafted on the same day as Wilson in 2012, in a move that will save them $16.6 million in cap space.
The Seahawks take on $26 million in dead money by trading Wilson. Per ESPN Stats & Information research, that’s the second-most dead money a team has ever incurred, trailing the $33.8 million the Philadelphia Eagles ate in the Carson Wentz trade.
