George wept while he spoke about his illness on his show “Amazing Spaces”

“It turns out, I have a very rare form of muscular distrophy which is a muscle wasting disease”, George had said.

The 47-year-old architect, known for property shows including Amazing Spaces and The Restoration Man, recently got divorced from his wife, Katie, and the couple ended up putting their countryside bungalow up for sale.

George’s estranged marketing consultant wife, Katie had reportedly alluded to their break-up in a series of cryptic Instagram posts, before her page was then made private.

Before his marriage to Katie, George was previously wed to animator Catriona Drummond but they went on to split in 2014.

The couple share sons Georgie and Emilio and a daughter Iona.

Confirming his split at the time, George said: ‘We have been married quite a long time and decided to part.”

George Clarke is an English architect, television presenter, lecturer and writer, best known for his work on the Channel 4 programmes The Home Show, The Restoration Man and George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces.
