The 25-year-old Puerto Rican beauty recounted in an interview with Nicole Acevedo on NBC News:
“I received this phone call one day on my cellphone. It was Alessandra Corea. And after that, I went to Victoria’s Secret. They said we are going to hire you to model as the first model with Down’s Syndrome at Victoria’s Secret.”

In connection with her debut walk at the New York Fashion Week in 2020, Jirau said she “felt like a shooting star.”
