Cornelius Crane “Chevy” Chase was born on October 8, 1943, in Lower Manhattan, New York, the United States to parents Edward Tinsley Chase and Cathalene Parker Browning.
Chevy Chase was brought up in Woodstock, New York. His father, Edward Tinsley “Ned” Chase was a book editor and magazine writer while his mother, Cathalene Parker Browning; was a concert pianist and librettist.
Chevy Chase began schooling at Riverdale Country School, however, he was expelled. He later graduated in 1962 from the Stockbridge School, Massachusetts and then attended Haverford College from 1962 to 1963 term.

Chevy Chase had his first leading film role in the comedy Foul Play (1978), which earned him two Golden Globe Award nominations. He joined Saturday Night Live as a key cast member in the first season. He is a recipient of three Primetime Emmy Awards.
