According to the laws in the United Kingdom, companion animals such as cats are considered as personal property so that any damage or harm to a cat is legally the same as damage to any other piece of property.

An individual can receive a fine of up to £20,000 or a ban from owning animals or both for committing an act of cruelty, or failing to meet your cat’s welfare needs.

After a lot of criticism by the public, Kurt Zouma finally apologized for his actions. However, his apology could not prevent a fine by his club and the termination of a sponsorship deal he had with Adidas.
