Annastacia Palaszczuk is an Australian politician who has been the 39th premier of Queensland since 2015 and the leader of the Queensland branch of the Australian Labor Party since 2012.

Annastacia Palaszczuk was born on July 25, 1969, in Durack, Australia to parents, Henry Palaszczuk and Lorelle Palaszczuk. Her father is veteran state Labor MP Henry Pałaszczuk, while her Australian mother, Lorelle, is descended from German settlers.
Annastacia Palaszczuk attended St Mary’s College, Ipswich from 1982 to 1986. She has degrees in Arts and Laws from the University of Queensland, a Masters of Arts from the London School of Economics.

Annastacia Palaszczuk is a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from Australian National University. She was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland for the district of Inala at the 2006 election.

Annastacia Palaszczuk led Labor Assembly to victory at the 2015 election, becoming the first woman in Australian history to become a state premier from the opposition.
