David Goodwillie in January 2011, was arrested and charged after being accused of raping a woman at a New Year’s house party in West Lothian. He was charged along with his teammate at that time, David Robertson.
In a statement issued by the police at the time, it stated;

“A 21-year old man has been charged in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault on a 24-year-old woman in Armadale on January 2, 2011. The individual concerned has been released to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court at a later date. Inquiries into the incident are ongoing, and no further comment can be made at this time.”
However, the charges were dropped after prosecutors claimed that there was a “lack of evidence.”
