Jordan Phillips was born on September 21, 1992, in Wichita, Kansas, the United States to parents, Irene Alford and Willie Alford.

Jordan Phillips went to Circle High school located in Towanda, Kansas. He was rated by Scout.com as a five-star recruit and Rivals.com as a four-star. He committed to the University of Oklahoma where he played college football.

Jordan Phillips played at Oklahoma from 2011 to 2014. He entered the 2015 NFL Draft after his junior season.

Jordan Phillips was drafted with the 52nd overall pick in the second round by the Miami Dolphins of the 2015 NFL Draft. On April 6, 2020, He signed a three–year contract with the Arizona Cardinals.
