George Lopez’ spokesperson said that the veteran comedian has a genetic disorder that caused kidney failure.

While the exact nature of George Lopez’ illness was not disclosed, polycystic kidney disease is the most common genetic disorder that causes kidney failure.

According to George Lopez, ABC prime-time entertainment president Steve McPherson explained to him that the network would lose money if the show was picked up again, hence the need to cancel to show.
