Peter Wright was born on March 10, 1970, in Livingston, United Kingdom. However, his hometown is Mendham, Suffolk, England.

Peter Wright was previously working as a tyre fitter before becoming a professional darts player. He won a match at the World Championship for the first time in 2011 by beating Co Stompé 3–1.

Peter Wright is currently ranked the world No. 2 on the Order of Merit and is the current World Matchplay Champion. He also won the 2020 PDC World Darts Championship.
