Anderson Hays Cooper was born on June 3, 1967, in New York, New York, the United States as the younger son of author, screenwriter, and actor Wyatt Emory Cooper and artist, fashion designer, writer, and heiress Gloria Vanderbilt.
Anderson Cooper’s father, Wyatt died January 5, 1978, at the age of 50. He lost his older brother, Carter Vanderbilt Cooper when he was 21 years old. Carter had committed suicide on July 22, 1988, at age 23.
