Anderson Hays Cooper was born on June 3, 1967, in New York, New York, the United States as the younger son of author, screenwriter, and actor Wyatt Emory Cooper and artist, fashion designer, writer, and heiress Gloria Vanderbilt.

Anderson Cooper’s father, Wyatt died January 5, 1978, at the age of 50. He lost his older brother, Carter Vanderbilt Cooper when he was 21 years old. Carter had committed suicide on July 22, 1988, at age 23.

Anderson Cooper attended the Dalton School, a private day school in the Upper East Side neighbourhood of Manhattan, graduating a semester early at the age of 17. He later attended Yale University.

Benjamin Maisani was born on January 27, 1973, in Corsica, France. He attended Hunter College, where received a degree in Arts. In 2017, he opened Club Cumming in the former space of his previous gay bar, Eastern Bloc, with Scottish actor Alan Cumming.

Benjamin Maisani is currently co-parenting, Wyatt Morgan Cooper with his former partner, Anderson Cooper. The co-parents first went public with their relationship in 2015, however, they had been reportedly linked since 2009.
