Lindsay Carole Ellis is an American film critic, former YouTuber, and author. She was born in 1984. She grew up in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Lindsay received her BA in Film Studies from New York University in 2007 and MFA from USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2011. On her Youtube page, she frequently makes videos about Walt Disney pictures films.
In early 2020, Ellis co-founded Musicalsplaining, a podcast in which she, accompanied by director and illustrator Kaveh Taherian, discusses a different musical every two weeks. It was included in O, The Oprah Magazine’s top 20 new podcasts of 2020.

Throughout Lindsay Ellis’ career online, she has been subject to multiple campaigns of harassment. In 2021 Patreon blog post, titled Walking away from omelas, she announced her retirement from Youtube and content creation, citing the harassment.
According to her fans, they believe the decision came after she was harassed to her breaking point for an old tweet where she said Disney’s Raya and The Last Dragon was very similar to Avatar: The Last Airbender.
