Desmond Tutu Dead: Archbishop who fought apartheid in South Africa dies at 90

Desmond Tutu, the well-known South African Anglican bishop, has passed away at the age of 90 years. The former Bishop of Johannesburg was instrumental in the world of theology and he was been a source of inspiration for many people.

Desmond Tutu was a human rights activist and an anti-apartheid who has earned great accolades. Desmond Tutu was a Nobel prize winner for his role in the struggle to abolish the apartheid system.

Among other things, Desmond Tutu earned an honorary doctorate from the National Louis University and he also bagged a Mattie JT Stepanek Peacemaker Award.

Desmond Tutu died in the early hours of December 26, 2021, and he is survived by his wife, Nomalizo Leah Tutu, and his four children: Mpho Andrea Tutu, Trevor Thamsanqa Tutu, Theresa Thandeka Tutu, and Naomi Nontombi Tutu.

The world has been brought to a standstill after the demise of Archbishop Desmond Tutu and several messages of condolences have been sent to his family.
