Manolo Santana Martínez, also known as Manolo Santana, was a Spanish tennis player.

Manolo Santana was ranked as amateur world No. 1 in 1965 by Ned Potter and in 1966 by Lance Tingay.

Manolo Santana was born on May 10, 1938, Madrid, Spain. 

Manolo Santana was also famous for saying “grass is just for cows” as he thought that tennis should be played on artificial surfaces as opposed to lawn tennis courts, like the ones at Wimbledon.

Manolo Santana was married to María Fernanda González-Dopeso, and they had four children; (Manuel, Beatriz, Borja, and Bárbara). Manuel Santana was also born in  A Coruña.

However, Manolo Santana and Maria Fernanda’s marriage ended in 1980, after which he married reporter Mila Ximénez, with whom he had a daughter, Alba Santana Ximenez de Cisneros.

Alba Santana Ximenez de Cisneros was born on April 15, 1984.

Beatriz Santana was born in 1965 in A Coruña, A Coruña, Galicia, and is an actress and writer, known for Al salir de clase (1997), Amaneció de golpe (1998) and Segunda enseñanza (1986).
