Pizza is an Italian dish that originated from Italy consisting of a flattened bottom layer of bread dough with toppings over the bread covered with sauce but mostly tomato sauce. The toppings are mostly based on individual preferences.

Google Doodle Celebrates Pizza

Today’s interactive Google Doodle celebrates one of the world’s most popular dishes pizza today 6th December and this is because, On the same day in 2007, the culinary art of Neapolitan “Pizzaiuolo” was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

In other words, pizza became a cultural touchstone of the human race. Other items on the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity include camel racing as well as “practices pertaining to the production and consumption of couscous.”

Today, an estimated five billion pizzas are consumed internationally each year making pizza one of the most popular dishes in the world, and every culture has a different way of making it.

In celebration of this, Google Doodle interactive puzzle offers users some of the most popular toppings from around the world and asks them to slice up. There’s a catch though thus, the slicing needs to be very specific, and the more precise you make it, the more stars you earn.

What Is The Basic Ingredient of Pizza?

Pizza is made up of four distinct basic ingredients which include, the crust, the sauce, cheese, and topping.

The toppings vary due to cultures and preferences. The commonly known toppings are cheese, sausages, pepperoni, vegetables, tomatoes, spices and herbs, and basil.
