What does a player lockout mean?
Player lockout means that the owners of teams literally lock the players out of club facilities, meaning no workouts are allowed.
During the Major League Baseball lockout, free agents will not be allowed to sign and teams will not be permitted to trade players who are part of the MLB. Moreover, players will receive their signing bonuses or deferred salary payments during the lockout period.
