What happened to Chaka Khan and Rufus?

Chaka Khan was the lead singer of the Rufus music group, however, their relationship became somewhat difficult to keep up with as time goes on.

During the time Khan was promoting her album Khan, Rufus put out a less favourably received album that Khan was not part of. However, Khan returned to the band to record an album produced by Masterjam. They split afterwards.

Khan once revealed that being the center of the group made her feel uncomfortable even though they lived like brothers and sisters.

She said that she had a feeling she iwilll not be part of them for long after the label named their album Rufus featuring Chaka. And that was what gradually tore them apart.
