Betty Shabazz was an American educator, nurse and civil rights activist who served on the advisory committee of the US Department of Health and Human Service in 1975. Batty Shabazz was married to a popular man called Malcolm X who was later assassinated.

Betty Shabazz started her college education at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama but quit the school after several issues of racism. Betty proceeded to study nursing at Brooklyn State College School of Nursing in New York City and later bagged a degree in education at Jersey City State College. Betty then proceeded to the University of Massachusetts Amherst and bagged a Doctor of Education.
