Julio Lugo was a Dominican professional baseball shortstop who is the older brother of a baseball pitcher, Ruddy Lugo. Julio Lugo played in the Major League Baseball for the likes of Houston Astros, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, St. Louise Cardinals, Baltimore Orioles and Atlanta Braves.

Julio Lugo made his MLB debut on April 15, 2000, for the Houston Astros and made his last MLB appearance on August 23, 2011, for the Atlanta Braves. Julio Lugo won the 2007 World Series with the Boston Red Sox.
