Blake Hinson, a young proactive 6-foot-6 basketballer from Mississippi, has left the Iowa State men’s basketball program. Blake Hinson is a 20-year-old native of Deltona and is a graduate of the Sunrise Christian Academy.

The unfortunate news was revealed by the Iowa State Basketball head coach: “I met with all of our players individually Thursday to discuss their roles heading into the season,” first-year head coach T.J. Otzelberger said in a statement released by the school. “On Friday, Blake informed me he was quitting the team. While it is disappointing, it is important to understand roles and I believe the rest of our team is ready for the upcoming season.”
