Emma Olivia Watkins is a singer, actor, and dancer from Australia, best known as a member of the children’s group the Wiggles.

Emma Watkins began ballet when she was four years old. She witnessed the Wiggles do Irish dancing and went on to study various dance genres such as jazz, hip hop, tap, and contemporary.

Emma Watkins attended The McDonald College, a performing arts institution, and received a full scholarship to the Sydney Film School. She also earned a certificate in musical theatre from ED5 International in Sydney.

Emma Watkins graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with a master’s degree in Media Arts and Production. She has been teaching youngsters to dance since she was in high school.

Emma Watkins has also been in Bollywood films, learned to play the drums and other percussion instruments, was crowned Miss Granny Smith Apples in 2009, and by 2012, she was learning Australian Sign Language. By 2021, she will have completed her PhD study on Sign language and dance.

Why Did Emma Watkins Leave The Wiggles?

Emma Watkins has announced her departure from the Wiggles at the end of the year, owing to a lockdown epiphany. “The epidemic has given me time to think on what is essential in life, as it has for many others throughout the world,” she said.
